Rules and Regulations

Styles - Salsa

  • Costume: Participants must wear authentic dance costumes. Casual dressing will not be allowed
  • Tricks and drops will be allowed in this category
  • All couples will dance on the same music piece which will play for 1.30 to 2 mins
  • The music will be played on the spot
  • There can be two girls partnering each other.
  • No age limit for this group.

  • Competitors taking part in the novice or amateurs group cannot take part in the social or beginner’s level

Judging criteria

  • Timing and Musicality Contestants must be on beat and should use the musicality to perfection
  • Technique and styling Technique and styling will carry utmost importance

Entry fee: - Rs. 1000/-  per couple (per style)

  • For all the above styles a minimum of 4 couples is required for the style to be included for the Championship
  • Costume: Participants must wear authentic dance costumes. Casual dressing will not be allowed

Rules and Regulations

  • Costume :  Participants must wear authentic dance costumes. Casual dressing shall not be allowed.
  • No bollywood tracks/ music will be allowed. The music should be authentic.
  • A Couple can take part in one or more styles with an entry fee applicable per style.
    Eg.If X participates with Y in salsa, the entry fee would be Rs. 1000/- per couple for salsa.
    And if X and Y also participate in chacha/jive/rumba/samba, the entry fee would be extra as applicable for that level for each respective style participated in.
  • NO INTERCHANGE OF PARTNERS PERMITTED IRRESPECTIVE OF CHANGE IN DANCE STYLE IN THE SAME LEVEL.
  • . INTERCHANGE OF PARTNERS IS PERMISSIBLE AT DIFFERENT LEVELS
    Eg. If X participates with Y at novice level, then X cannot participate with Y at the amateur level. However X can participate with Z at amateur level.
  • There will be 2 rounds for each dance style.
    Round 1 : Eliminations, that shall be an impromptu round.
    Round 2 : Performance of set choreography.
  • Every couple should have a set choreography for each style they wish to participate in for Round 2.
  • Choreography can be based on themes. Props shall be allowed.
  • The time limit is set at 2.00 (Minimum) - 2:30(Maximum) per style.
  • Lifts, Tricks and Drops are allowed.
  • The order of performance will be lotto
  • Contestants must prepare their own choreography and bring 2 copies of their CD. Only one song must be burned on the CD.
